Well, it finally happened. As a family with two boys, I’m surprised it didn’t happen sooner. A bone was broken…well fractured. I’d like to say Eden was performing a life-saving maneuver defending family and friends from danger, but I can’t. He stepped on it wrong coming down the stairs. We’ll work on souping up the story for future tellings, but for now you get complete honesty.
Eden handled it surprisingly well! A friend loaned us a pair of crutches for him to get around. After waiting a day or two to make sure it wasn’t just sprained, we went in to the A&E (ER) and got the x-ray. When the doctor came in to present what she found, she knelt down to Eden’s eye-line to give the news. Afterward, Eden said, “Man, when she knelt down to my eye level I thought I was cooked! They don’t get down like that unless its something really bad.” Haha.
So he’s got a boot now and doing very well. He’s two weeks in to his four week period with the clunky shoe. While he’s healing nicely, we appreciate the prayers for complete healing and no more boot after the next check-up.
Well, that’s our latest family update. We love and appreciate you all!
