We spent the past few days at a hotel and conference centre in Croatia at an AGWM Europe Regions retreat with special activities for the kiddos, services and meetings for the adults, and (thankfully) plenty of scheduled free time to rest. We had some wonderful healing moments with friends as we shared stories, encouraged one another, and sought advice on various difficulties in ministry. We even saw some cousins who serve in Hungary!
Now as we return feeling refreshed and renewed, I can reflect on what a special time this was for us. We’re so grateful for the friendships we’ve developed through past 13 years here in Europe. They are precious people who make up a crucial part of our team.
I want to encourage you towards two things. First, surround yourself with people. People who have been where you are and can give guidance. People who are where you are now who can relate and sympathize with your current reality. And people who are where you were that you can invest into with the wisdom you’ve gained. Second, I encourage you to get away. The American drive can be a blessing, but it can also be a curse. The busyness we all celebrate and value can break you and leave you unable to fulfill God’s call on your life. Take time to rest, to think, to breathe, and to be. Who you are is the main thing God cares about, not what you do.
You are also absolutely invaluable. We’re in this together, every step of the way. We have some more exciting Zoe updates coming your way soon, but for now I’ll say once again…Thank you all for your continued prayer and support. We are excited for what’s ahead!
