Zoe Community has been making strides in connecting with our local community. Trust with the public is so important for an organisation like Zoe. And in Ireland it can take quite some time to build that trust up. We are grateful that this Christmas season we were invited by one of the main local churches, Crinken Church, to join in their annual Christmas Tree Festival!
Over 50 charities and business in our area joined in. We were each charged with decorating a tree based on an assigned scripture in the story of Jesus’ birth. We had Luke 2:12-16. As you can see in the picture we highlighted the shepherds being invited to come just as they were, out of the pasture, smelling of sheep, to see the Newborn King. We also had the opportunity to write a description of Zoe Community in a booklet handed to all in attendance. In it we mentioned how Mary found hope in a desperate situation. Likewise Zoe wants to help women find the hope of Jesus even in the midst of their own crisis. We placed the word “hope” on the star with a purple sparkling ribbon leading down to manger scene at the base of the tree.
We pray this opportunity bolstered our trust and awareness with the community. We also pray that those attending would be encouraged that no matter what they face in this Christmas season, they can come just as they are and find the hope of Jesus.
Thank you for your faithfulness in giving and prayer. We have a great team in each one of you!
