St. Patrick's Day and Back Pain...a Prayer Request

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We celebrated 12 years since Katy and I landed in Ireland to begin our journey here. We came here clueless and kidless. I can definitely say one of those things have changed in a dozen years. Our two boys are the joy of our life.

I wanted to share more in this area, but I need to pause for a very special prayer request. The past few months Katy has been experiencing tremendous lower back pain. We know what it is now, and she’s begun exercises given by her doctors. However, at night it all gets way worse making sleep impossible.

• Please pray God will heal her body soon.

• Please pray she will see signs of improvement through the exercises.

• Please pray she will be able to sleep at night.

Thank you so much for all you do. It means the world to know we have a team of people praying alongside us!

If you know Katy, her capacity for leadership and influence is no surprise. If you’re Katy, she doesn’t see what we see. I’m so proud of her this week as she made a quick trip to Oklahoma to speak at a women’s leadership event at North Church to connect with other women and speak about Zoe Community. She also participated in North’s weekend experiences to further share what Zoe is and what exciting opportunities are on the way. I want to give a HUGE thank you to Pastor Shannon Fouts for inviting Katy this week. We are so blessing by Rodney, Shannon, and our North Church family there in OKC.

She was also invited to pop up to Tulsa for a missions banquet at Woodlake Church. There she shared about Zoe and connected with Pastors Jamie and Jen Austin and our amazing Woodlake family who have been longtime supporters through prayer and giving.

Katy is a trooper making this whole trip with serious back pain. I love how tough she is and her dedication to what God has called us to do. She is an exceptional leader for Zoe Community, a role many never get to see her in. So I’m bragging. Now you know.

Sick Days

What do you do on midterm break with the kids out of school and two of the fam down with sickness? You eat ice-lollies on the couch and watch tv.

This past weekend Katy came down with strep and Eden had some kind of stomach bug. Eli and I had a great time, but unfortunately the other two did not. Eden has made it through his bout, but Katy is still on the mend. We’re thankful it didn’t spread around to all four of us, but it was a tough couple of days.

Things are moving well for Zoe Community! I’m excited to bring you a few more new updates soon about our official Zoe launch as well as our conference coming in September. Please pray for Katy’s complete healing, not only for the strep, but for some lingering back pain.
