Something that isn’t quite common in the states that Katy and I have learned to do here in Ireland is to take a prayer retreat. Every year varies, but we try to go at least once each by ourselves to a little cabin in Glendalough, Ireland at the Glendalough Hermitage Centre.
I just returned from my two-night getaway and am feeling so reenergized. Each time my focus and plan is different depending on what’s happening in our lives at the moment. This is where I came to process the loss of our child in miscarriage back in 2015. This is where I’ve retreated when feeling weary, broken, or unsure. This is where I’ve found inspiration when I needed to create. This place has been so crucial to Katy and I as individuals, and we even used the place together once on a little couples retreat.
I’m thankful for opportunities to step away, refocus, revive my spirit, and prepare for what’s ahead. I’m back in the office now excited for the many wonderful things to come. I encourage you, find time to step away. Whether it’s an hour, a day, or a week, I promise it will make a difference.
Thank you for all you do, all your prayers, and all your generosity. We love you and are so grateful to have you on our team!
