#EdgmonTour15

We officially wrapped up the first weekend of our whirlwind tour through the U.S. Having completed our first term in Ireland, we are now preparing to begin our second. Our primary goal for this trip is to raise ministry funds that will help us fulfill all the opportunities that God will give us. When we post updates about our trip, we will be using the hashtag "#EdgmonTour15". We invite you to keep up with our journey and even join in the conversation!

Our first stop this past weekend was in Indian, PA at The Summit Church. We had such a great time with Pastors Mel and Kim Masengale, who are longtime friends. They, along with the Summit Church family, were so kind, welcoming, and encouraging. They even had grace for our ridiculous jetlag (by "our" I mean Eden's). It was the perfect place to begin our travels.

So thank you Summit Church. Thank you Mel and Kim. We are so honoured to have you on the team as we all work to see university students in Ireland blessed by the Gospel of Jesus.

Oklahoma...here we come.

Prayer for Students

It's that time of year again. Students from all over the island (and the world) are moving back to their universities, preparing for another semester of studies. Some will be catching up with friends from last year, and some will be walking on to that campus for the first time...all alone.

It's this first week of arrivals that is so crucial to the life of a student. Upon arrival and through the first two weeks of class, students will plug in. Where they plug in and who they plug in with will largely determine what kind of experience they will have that semester...educationally, relationally, and spiritually.

Let's take this week to pray together for students returning to their campuses and entering for the first time into university life. Pray that the local churches and student ministries on their campus would reach out to plug in with their peers.

Let us pray for God to begin preparing the hearts of students who may not know him, that this would be the semester they encounter Christ. Let us pray for the Christian students on campus to have the heart of Christ, making room in their busy lives for one more friend who needs to experience the life changing love of Jesus.

As a team, let's intercede together for the students of Ireland. This time of year is crucial. Thank you for all your prayers and support.

Two Weeks of Insanity

First off, we have great news. We have a place to live in Oklahoma! If you saw on our last post, we weren't quite sure where we could land for our two months in OK. We have friends who recently moved and are selling their house in Norman, OK. They have offered for us to live there! We will still be spending a few nights here and there with family.

Ok. So with housing sorted we are fully able to focus on getting things wrapped up here in Dublin. Here's a few things we have coming in the next two weeks. We appreciate your prayers regarding each of these areas.

  • Probably the biggest thing coming our way is moving house.
    • Praise God, we only have to move two doors down. However, we only have two small windows of a few hours to move everything before the 24th when we actually take the house. (Thats the day before we leave for the U.S.! Ahh!)
  • We are also helping to get our group in Carlow off the ground for the semester.
    • We partner with a student group at Carlow IT, called Alpha. This group of students use the Alpha Course material to help teach students from all backgrounds about Christ.
  • We will also be wrapping up things in Dublin. Various meetings and planning sessions will need to happen in the next week for us to get things sorted.

We are so excited to spend a couple of months in the U.S. raising more funds and reconnecting with as many of you as possible. Thank you for all your prayers and support.  We have a great team!
